Movie buffs……good movie suggestion?
So i want to watch a movie something good though.
none of that nonsense like superbad or the hangover
although they are funny
not quite what im looking for.
something more thought provoking like The Shawshank Redemption or The Green Mile
and no i doesnt have to be a prison movie or by Stephen King
those just happen to be coincidences
So….suggestions?

The DVD player in my computer will play music from a CD but will only show the video on a DVD, ie, no sound.?
The unit is a NEC DVD+-RW ND-3530A and the computer a Dell Dimension 5150.

hi!
first of all what type of cable are you using?
are you using a different cable from playing music CD’s?
have you tried checking if you’ve connected the audio jack at the back of the CPU.
- see the jack has color designations, then look at the back of you CPu and look where to plug the audio jack
- also see if you’ve inserted the jack properly, it may have been loosely connected

You should probably download the latest drivers because if the video plays then more than likely there is nothing wrong with the drive secondly i would try another dvd playing software because windows media player is not the best

Sounds like a problem with the Software you are using.
Your application may have a problem with regards the codec for the audio portion of the DVD file.

I would recommend that you try VideoLAN - VLC media player, this tends to play anything & everything. If you have a problem using this it may be your ‘hardware’.
